THE ATAS BUTTER STORY
Atas Butter was started in 2022 after an inspirational trip to Tasmania. Over there, we tasted delicious cultured butter on fresh bread and wanted to bring that beautiful experience to our tables here in Singapore. In addition, we hope to develop other tasty butter creations that would leave a satisfied smile on your face.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
As former Silicon Valley engineers, we leverage our engineering skills to craft unparalleled flavour combinations. Our ultimate goal is to transcend the conventional limitations of butter by drawing inspiration from global cuisine and pushing the boundaries of taste and consumption. Our relentless pursuit of innovation has led us to create butter that is truly exceptional in every way.
THE PROCESS

We first source for the freshest cream with no preservatives or additives like stabilisers, emulsifiers or thickeners to ensure that we use only the highest quality of ingredients.

We add lactobacillus culture from our buttermilk to the cream. 1-2 days later, it becomes a delicious soured cream (crème fraîche). This process is responsible for the tangy flavour of our butter.

We churn the creme fraîche, which splits into butter with a by-product of fresh cultured buttermilk.

Finally, we hand-knead the butter which enhances the flavour profile. We then use this fresh butter as the base for our various flavours.
